Strengthening the Verde
Join us to help Strengthen the Verde through Education! Open to the public!
?This event will include opportunities for businesses and organizations to highlight what they do to help our children and families become strong and resilient. Included in the evening is a world-class presentation by the Gurian Institute. This presentation is based upon the work of Michael Gurian, a New YorkTimes best-selling author of twenty eight books, including The Wonder of
Boys, The Wonder of Girls, and the landmark book Boys and Girls Learn
Differently! The Gurain Institute addresses the learning gaps associated
with race, socioeconomic status and language, critically examining the role
gender plays in patterns of achievement, classroom management, and
student outcomes.
Join Katey McPherson as we examine the differences in brain development
of boys and girls. Find out what we can do as educators and community
members to change our own behaviors and school environments in
supporting the learning of all children.
