Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day
The sixth annual Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day celebration is planned for Saturday, April 1 at the Cottonwood Kids Park, 321 South 12th Street near the Verde Valley Fairgrounds. The city of Cottonwood is proud to serve as the host community for this year’s event. A Ride of Honor for Vietnam Veterans is scheduled Saturday, April 1. Staging and a bike blessing are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. at the Sedona Posse Grounds Park with kickstands up at 11:10 a.m. The ride ends at the Cottonwood Kids Park at 12:30 p.m. Music by The Mods starts at noon. A Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day ceremony begins at 1 p.m. with a color guard. Verde Valley mayors will speak. Shawn Michael Perry will sing Brother in Arms. Food and other activities will be donated for free through the generosity of community businesses and organizations. Lunch will be served beginning at 12:30 p.m. The public is invited.
